How to connect perplexity to apple contacts

    Download Pomeroy and switch on Apple Contacts.

    Open the download, drag Pomeroy into Applications, and open it. Pomeroy opens a setup window listing every app it can connect. macOS asks whether Pomeroy may access your contacts. The prompt names Pomeroy, and nothing is requested until you flip the toggle.

    Press Set up beside Perplexity.

    Perplexity's Mac app takes local connectors through a form, with no file and no link, so Pomeroy puts the two values on your clipboard.

    Paste it into Perplexity.

    Paste the configuration into Perplexity › Settings › Connectors › Add Connector. In Perplexity, Settings › Connectors lists Pomeroy once you save the form. Perplexity may first ask you to install its helper for local connectors. You may need to restart Perplexity.

    Ask Perplexity something.

    Try “What is Priya’s mobile number?” and a real answer comes back.

Can Perplexity see my Apple Contacts?

Yes. Once you switch Contacts on in Pomeroy, Perplexity can search your contacts by name, organisation, email address, or a fragment of a phone number, and read back what it finds.

Can Perplexity change my contacts?

No, never. Pomeroy has no action for creating, editing, or deleting a contact, so it cannot happen by accident or on request. Your address book is read, never written.

Is it safe to connect Perplexity to Apple Contacts?

Pomeroy looks contacts up on your Mac and sends nothing to a Pomeroy server. What Perplexity reads becomes part of your conversation, the same as text you paste in. Contacts starts switched off, and you can switch it off again at any time. Pomeroy is an independent app, not made by Anthropic.

Perplexity does not show Pomeroy's tools.

Try restarting Perplexity; its documentation does not say whether it reloads on its own. Then press Set up again in Pomeroy, under Settings › Assistants: every way Pomeroy sets an assistant up is safe to run twice. Pomeroy's menu bar shows whether Perplexity is connected right now.
