Connect Pomeroy to Perplexity
Yes, Perplexity works with Pomeroy. Pomeroy writes the configuration for Perplexity and you paste it in. Then Perplexity can reach Mail, Calendar, Reminders, Notes, Contacts, Messages, Maps, Shortcuts and Weather on your Mac, each app behind its own switch in Pomeroy, and nothing leaves your Mac except what you ask for.
Free for 50 actions a week. No account, no card. Or get Perplexity first.
How to connect Pomeroy to Perplexity
Pomeroy lists the assistants it finds on this Mac, so install Perplexity first if it is not there yet. Coming back to Pomeroy’s window re-checks.
- 1
Download Pomeroy and switch on your apps.
Open the download, drag Pomeroy into Applications, and open it. Pomeroy opens a setup window listing every app it can connect. Switch on the ones you want, and macOS asks you to approve each.
- 2
Press Set up beside Perplexity.
Perplexity's Mac app takes local connectors through a form, with no file and no link, so Pomeroy puts the two values on your clipboard.
- 3
Paste it into Perplexity.
Paste the configuration into Perplexity › Settings › Connectors › Add Connector. In Perplexity, Settings › Connectors lists Pomeroy once you save the form. Perplexity may first ask you to install its helper for local connectors. You may need to restart Perplexity.
- 4
Ask Perplexity something.
Try “What’s on my calendar today?” and a real answer comes back.
The configuration, in full
You do not need it — Set up writes it for you. The documentation has the exact text, where it goes, how to check it worked.

Perplexity does not show Pomeroy's tools.
Try restarting Perplexity; its documentation does not say whether it reloads on its own. Then press Set up again in Pomeroy, under Settings › Assistants: every way Pomeroy sets an assistant up is safe to run twice. Pomeroy's menu bar shows whether Perplexity is connected right now.
Pomeroy did not list Perplexity.
Pomeroy looks for Perplexity the way macOS does: by its app, by its command in the usual install locations, and by the folder it keeps its settings in. If Perplexity is installed somewhere unusual, paste the configuration above by hand; the connection works whether or not Pomeroy found Perplexity first.
Nothing comes back when I ask.
Check that the app you asked about is switched on in Pomeroy, and that the week's 50 free actions are not used up. Pomeroy says so in the answer if they are, and the count refills a week after it started.
