How to connect perplexity to apple calendar
Pomeroy lists the assistants it finds on this Mac, so install Perplexity first if it is not there yet.
- 1
Download Pomeroy and switch on Apple Calendar.
Open the download, drag Pomeroy into Applications, and open it. Pomeroy opens a setup window listing every app it can connect. macOS asks whether Pomeroy may access your calendar. The prompt names Pomeroy, and nothing is requested until you flip the toggle.
- 2
Press Set up beside Perplexity.
Perplexity's Mac app takes local connectors through a form, with no file and no link, so Pomeroy puts the two values on your clipboard.
- 3
Paste it into Perplexity.
Paste the configuration into Perplexity › Settings › Connectors › Add Connector. In Perplexity, Settings › Connectors lists Pomeroy once you save the form. Perplexity may first ask you to install its helper for local connectors. You may need to restart Perplexity.
- 4
Ask Perplexity something.
Try “What’s on my calendar today?” and a real answer comes back.
The configuration, in full
Set up writes it for you. The documentation has the exact text, where it goes, and how to check it worked.
Can Perplexity see my Apple Calendar?
Yes. Once you switch Calendar on in Pomeroy, Perplexity can read today, any day, or a whole range of days, across every calendar your Mac shows. Times come back in your Mac's own time zone.
Can Perplexity change my calendar?
Yes, when you ask. Perplexity can create an event and change one you name, and it changes only the fields you mention. A recurring event changes only that one occurrence. It cannot delete an event.
Is it safe to connect Perplexity to Apple Calendar?
Pomeroy reads your calendar on your Mac and sends nothing to a Pomeroy server. What Perplexity reads becomes part of your conversation, the same as text you paste in. Calendar starts switched off, and you can switch it off again at any time. Pomeroy is an independent app, not made by Anthropic.
Perplexity does not show Pomeroy's tools.
Try restarting Perplexity; its documentation does not say whether it reloads on its own. Then press Set up again in Pomeroy, under Settings › Assistants: every way Pomeroy sets an assistant up is safe to run twice. Pomeroy's menu bar shows whether Perplexity is connected right now.
