How to connect warp to apple contacts

Pomeroy lists the assistants it finds on this Mac, so install Warp first if it is not there yet.

    Download Pomeroy and switch on Apple Contacts.

    Open the download, drag Pomeroy into Applications, and open it. Pomeroy opens a setup window listing every app it can connect. macOS asks whether Pomeroy may access your contacts. The prompt names Pomeroy, and nothing is requested until you flip the toggle.

    Press Set up beside Warp.

    Pomeroy puts the configuration on your clipboard. Paste it into Warp's .mcp.json, or into Warp's MCP settings, keeping any servers already there.

    Paste it into Warp.

    Paste the configuration into ~/.warp/.mcp.json. In Warp's MCP servers settings, Pomeroy is listed. Start it from there if it is not running. You may need to restart Warp.

    Ask Warp something.

    Try “What is Priya’s mobile number?” and a real answer comes back.

Can Warp see my Apple Contacts?

Yes. Once you switch Contacts on in Pomeroy, Warp can search your contacts by name, organisation, email address, or a fragment of a phone number, and read back what it finds.

Can Warp change my contacts?

No, never. Pomeroy has no action for creating, editing, or deleting a contact, so it cannot happen by accident or on request. Your address book is read, never written.

Is it safe to connect Warp to Apple Contacts?

Pomeroy looks contacts up on your Mac and sends nothing to a Pomeroy server. What Warp reads becomes part of your conversation, the same as text you paste in. Contacts starts switched off, and you can switch it off again at any time. Pomeroy is an independent app, not made by Anthropic.

Warp does not show Pomeroy's tools.

Try restarting Warp; its documentation does not say whether it reloads on its own. Then press Set up again in Pomeroy, under Settings › Assistants: every way Pomeroy sets an assistant up is safe to run twice. Pomeroy's menu bar shows whether Warp is connected right now.
