Worth knowing
Listing is deliberately cheap
Listing is deliberately cheap
notes_list returns names and ids only. An assistant that needs a body asks
for that one note. A years-old Notes library does not arrive in your
conversation because somebody asked a vague question.Bodies come back as plain text
Bodies come back as plain text
Formatting, tables and attachments do not survive. What an assistant reads
is the words.
There is no edit tool
There is no edit tool
Rather than rewriting a note, an assistant can create a new one. Your
original stays exactly as you left it, which for a notes app is the
behaviour worth having.
Permissions
Switching Notes on asks macOS for permission to control Notes (NSAppleEventsUsageDescription). Automation is per app, so approving Notes
says nothing about Mail or Shortcuts.
