Connect OpenCode to Apple Mail
Yes, OpenCode can read your Apple Mail. Pomeroy connects OpenCode to Apple Mail on your Mac, so it can list your mailboxes, read messages, and search your mail by sender, subject, or body text. Pomeroy cannot send, reply, delete, or move mail; it only reads.

How to connect opencode to apple mail
Pomeroy lists the assistants it finds on this Mac, so install OpenCode first if it is not there yet.
- 1
Download Pomeroy and switch on Apple Mail.
Open the download, drag Pomeroy into Applications, and open it. Pomeroy opens a setup window listing every app it can connect. macOS asks whether Pomeroy may control Mail, which is how one Mac app reads another's mail. The prompt names Pomeroy, and nothing is requested until you flip the toggle.
- 2
Press Set up beside OpenCode.
Pomeroy runs OpenCode's own mcp add command, naming the server so the command completes on its own rather than opening a prompt. It always writes your user configuration.
- 3
Check OpenCode.
Run opencode mcp list and pomeroy is listed, with its tools available in a session. You may need to restart OpenCode.
- 4
Ask OpenCode something.
Try “Find the flight confirmation from March and tell me the times.” and a real answer comes back.
The configuration, in full
Set up writes it for you. The documentation has the exact text, where it goes, and how to check it worked.
Can OpenCode read my Apple Mail?
Yes. Once you switch Mail on in Pomeroy, OpenCode can list your mailboxes, read messages, and search your mail. Searches cover subjects and senders, and message bodies through an index built and kept on your Mac.
Can OpenCode send email for me?
No. Pomeroy has no way to send, reply, or forward, so OpenCode cannot be talked into it. If you want a reply written, OpenCode can draft the words and you send them yourself.
Is it safe to connect OpenCode to Apple Mail?
Pomeroy reads your mail on your Mac and sends nothing to a Pomeroy server. What OpenCode reads becomes part of your conversation, the same as text you paste in. Mail starts switched off, and you can switch it off again at any time. Pomeroy is an independent app, not made by Anthropic.
OpenCode does not show Pomeroy's tools.
Try restarting OpenCode; its documentation does not say whether it reloads on its own. Then press Set up again in Pomeroy, under Settings › Assistants: every way Pomeroy sets an assistant up is safe to run twice. Pomeroy's menu bar shows whether OpenCode is connected right now.
