How to connect cherry studio to apple mail

Download Pomeroy and switch on Apple Mail.
Open the download, drag Pomeroy into Applications, and open it. Pomeroy opens a setup window listing every app it can connect. macOS asks whether Pomeroy may control Mail, which is how one Mac app reads another's mail. The prompt names Pomeroy, and nothing is requested until you flip the toggle.

Press Set up beside Cherry Studio.
Pomeroy opens Cherry Studio's install link and Cherry Studio shows the command it is about to add, with Cancel and Install. Nothing is written until you accept.

Check Cherry Studio.
In Cherry Studio, Settings › MCP Server lists pomeroy. Switch it on, then ask a new chat what tools it has. You may need to restart Cherry Studio.

Can Cherry Studio read my Apple Mail?

Yes. Once you switch Mail on in Pomeroy, Cherry Studio can list your mailboxes, read messages, and search your mail. Searches cover subjects and senders, and message bodies through an index built and kept on your Mac.

Can Cherry Studio send email for me?

No. Pomeroy has no way to send, reply, or forward, so Cherry Studio cannot be talked into it. If you want a reply written, Cherry Studio can draft the words and you send them yourself.

Is it safe to connect Cherry Studio to Apple Mail?

Pomeroy reads your mail on your Mac and sends nothing to a Pomeroy server. What Cherry Studio reads becomes part of your conversation, the same as text you paste in. Mail starts switched off, and you can switch it off again at any time. Pomeroy is an independent app, not made by Anthropic.
