How to connect boltai to apple notes

    Download Pomeroy and switch on Apple Notes.

    Open the download, drag Pomeroy into Applications, and open it. Pomeroy opens a setup window listing every app it can connect. macOS asks whether Pomeroy may control Notes, which is how one Mac app reads another's notes. The prompt names Pomeroy, and nothing is requested until you flip the toggle.

    Press Set up beside BoltAI.

    Pomeroy puts the configuration on your clipboard. In BoltAI, open Settings › Plugins, press +, paste, and save. There is no restart: choose Reload Config from the ⋯ menu.

    Paste it into BoltAI.

    Paste the configuration into BoltAI › Settings › Plugins › + (then ⋯ › Reload Config). In BoltAI, open Settings › Plugins and pomeroy is listed. Enable it for a chat and the tools appear.

    Try “Find my note about the boiler pressure.” and a real answer comes back.

Can BoltAI read my Apple Notes?

Yes. Once you switch Notes on in Pomeroy, BoltAI can list your notes by name and read any one of them in full. Note bodies come back as plain text.

Can BoltAI change or delete a note?

No. BoltAI can create a new note, and that is the only writing it does. An existing note is never edited, moved, or deleted.

Is it safe to connect BoltAI to Apple Notes?

Pomeroy reads your notes on your Mac and sends nothing to a Pomeroy server. What BoltAI reads becomes part of your conversation, the same as text you paste in. Notes starts switched off, and you can switch it off again at any time. Pomeroy is an independent app, not made by Anthropic.

Then press Set up again in Pomeroy, under Settings › Assistants: every way Pomeroy sets an assistant up is safe to run twice. Then check that the app you asked about is switched on in Pomeroy: an app that is off serves no tools. Pomeroy's menu bar shows whether BoltAI is connected right now.
