    Open the download, drag Pomeroy into Applications, and open it. Pomeroy opens a setup window listing every app it can connect. macOS asks whether Pomeroy may control Notes, which is how one Mac app reads another's notes. The prompt names Pomeroy, and nothing is requested until you flip the toggle.

    Press Set up beside Gemini CLI.

    Pomeroy runs Gemini CLI's own mcp add command with user scope, so Pomeroy is there in every project rather than one folder.

    Run gemini mcp list and pomeroy is listed. Inside a session, /mcp shows it with its tools. Start a new Gemini CLI session.

Can Gemini CLI read my Apple Notes?

Yes. Once you switch Notes on in Pomeroy, Gemini CLI can list your notes by name and read any one of them in full. Note bodies come back as plain text.

Can Gemini CLI change or delete a note?

No. Gemini CLI can create a new note, and that is the only writing it does. An existing note is never edited, moved, or deleted.

Is it safe to connect Gemini CLI to Apple Notes?
