How to connect msty studio to apple notes

Pomeroy lists the assistants it finds on this Mac, so install Msty Studio first if it is not there yet.

  1. 1

Download Pomeroy and switch on Apple Notes.

Open the download, drag Pomeroy into Applications, and open it. Pomeroy opens a setup window listing every app it can connect. macOS asks whether Pomeroy may control Notes, which is how one Mac app reads another's notes. The prompt names Pomeroy, and nothing is requested until you flip the toggle.

  2. 2

Press Set up beside Msty Studio.

Pomeroy copies the two values. In Msty Studio, open Toolbox, press Add New Tool, choose STDIO / JSON, and fill them in.

  3. 3

    Paste it into Msty Studio.

Paste the configuration into Msty Studio › Toolbox › Add New Tool › STDIO / JSON. In Msty Studio, open Toolbox › Tools and pomeroy is listed. Ask a new conversation what tools it has. You may need to restart Msty Studio.

  4. 4

    Ask Msty Studio something.

Try “Find my note about the boiler pressure.” and a real answer comes back.

The configuration, in full

Set up writes it for you. The documentation has the exact text, where it goes, and how to check it worked.

Can Msty Studio read my Apple Notes?

Yes. Once you switch Notes on in Pomeroy, Msty Studio can list your notes by name and read any one of them in full. Note bodies come back as plain text.

No. Msty Studio can create a new note, and that is the only writing it does. An existing note is never edited, moved, or deleted.

Is it safe to connect Msty Studio to Apple Notes?

Pomeroy reads your notes on your Mac and sends nothing to a Pomeroy server. What Msty Studio reads becomes part of your conversation, the same as text you paste in. Notes starts switched off, and you can switch it off again at any time. Pomeroy is an independent app, not made by Anthropic.

Msty Studio does not show Pomeroy's tools.

Try restarting Msty Studio; its documentation does not say whether it reloads on its own. Then press Set up again in Pomeroy, under Settings › Assistants: every way Pomeroy sets an assistant up is safe to run twice. Pomeroy's menu bar shows whether Msty Studio is connected right now.
