How to connect codex to apple calendar

    Download Pomeroy and switch on Apple Calendar.

    Open the download, drag Pomeroy into Applications, and open it. Pomeroy opens a setup window listing every app it can connect. macOS asks whether Pomeroy may access your calendar. The prompt names Pomeroy, and nothing is requested until you flip the toggle.

    Press Set up beside Codex.

    Pomeroy runs Codex's own codex mcp add command, which writes to Codex's configuration file. The CLI, the IDE extension and the ChatGPT desktop app all read that one file, so you set up once. If the codex command is not where Pomeroy can find it, Pomeroy adds the entry to the file itself.

    Check Codex.

    Run codex mcp list in the Terminal and pomeroy is listed. In the ChatGPT app, Settings › MCP servers shows it. Quit Codex and open it again.

    Try “What’s on my calendar today?” and a real answer comes back.

Can Codex see my Apple Calendar?

Yes. Once you switch Calendar on in Pomeroy, Codex can read today, any day, or a whole range of days, across every calendar your Mac shows. Times come back in your Mac's own time zone.

Can Codex change my calendar?

Yes, when you ask. Codex can create an event and change one you name, and it changes only the fields you mention. A recurring event changes only that one occurrence. It cannot delete an event.

Is it safe to connect Codex to Apple Calendar?

Pomeroy reads your calendar on your Mac and sends nothing to a Pomeroy server. What Codex reads becomes part of your conversation, the same as text you paste in. Calendar starts switched off, and you can switch it off again at any time. Pomeroy is an independent app, not made by Anthropic.

Codex does not show Pomeroy's tools.

Quit Codex completely and open it again; it reads its configuration when it starts. Then press Set up again in Pomeroy, under Settings › Assistants: every way Pomeroy sets an assistant up is safe to run twice. Pomeroy's menu bar shows whether Codex is connected right now.
