Yes, Cherry Studio can use Apple Maps. Pomeroy connects Cherry Studio to Apple Maps on your Mac, so it can find places, get driving or walking directions, and tell you how long a journey should take. The maps actions take place names, never your location.

How to connect cherry studio to apple maps
Pomeroy lists the assistants it finds on this Mac, so install Cherry Studio first if it is not there yet.
- 1
Download Pomeroy and switch on Apple Maps.
Open the download, drag Pomeroy into Applications, and open it. Pomeroy opens a setup window listing every app it can connect. Maps needs no macOS permission prompt. The maps actions take place names, not your location, so there is nothing for macOS to ask about.
- 2
Press Set up beside Cherry Studio.
Pomeroy opens Cherry Studio's install link and Cherry Studio shows the command it is about to add, with Cancel and Install. Nothing is written until you accept.
- 3
Check Cherry Studio.
In Cherry Studio, Settings › MCP Server lists pomeroy. Switch it on, then ask a new chat what tools it has. You may need to restart Cherry Studio.
- 4
Ask Cherry Studio something.
Try “How long will it take to drive to Bristol?” and a real answer comes back.
The configuration, in full
Set up writes it for you. The documentation has the exact text, where it goes, and how to check it worked.
Can Cherry Studio use Apple Maps?
Yes. Once you switch Maps on in Pomeroy, Cherry Studio can search for places near a named place and route between two named places, driving or walking, with the distance and the expected time.
Does this share my location?
No. The maps actions take place names, like Borough Market, never coordinates. Pomeroy has a separate Location toggle for the one action that reads where your Mac is, and it stays off unless you switch it on.
Can Cherry Studio plan a train journey?
No. Apple does not route public transport on a Mac, so Pomeroy offers driving and walking only. For a train journey, Cherry Studio can still tell you the walking route to the station.
Cherry Studio does not show Pomeroy's tools.
Try restarting Cherry Studio; its documentation does not say whether it reloads on its own. Then press Set up again in Pomeroy, under Settings › Assistants: every way Pomeroy sets an assistant up is safe to run twice. Pomeroy's menu bar shows whether Cherry Studio is connected right now.
