How to connect Pomeroy to Codex

Pomeroy lists the assistants it finds on this Mac, so install Codex first if it is not there yet. Coming back to Pomeroy’s window re-checks.

Download Pomeroy and switch on your apps.
Open the download, drag Pomeroy into Applications, and open it. Pomeroy opens a setup window listing every app it can connect. Switch on the ones you want, and macOS asks you to approve each.

Press Set up beside Codex.
Pomeroy runs Codex's own codex mcp add command, which writes to Codex's configuration file. The CLI, the IDE extension and the ChatGPT desktop app all read that one file, so you set up once. If the codex command is not where Pomeroy can find it, Pomeroy adds the entry to the file itself.

Check Codex.
Run codex mcp list in the Terminal and pomeroy is listed. In the ChatGPT app, Settings › MCP servers shows it. Quit Codex and open it again.

Ask Codex something.
Try “What’s on my calendar today?” and a real answer comes back.

What Codex can do with each app

Codex does not show Pomeroy's tools.

Quit Codex completely and open it again; it reads its configuration when it starts. Then press Set up again in Pomeroy, under Settings › Assistants: every way Pomeroy sets an assistant up is safe to run twice. Pomeroy's menu bar shows whether Codex is connected right now.

Pomeroy did not list Codex.

Pomeroy looks for Codex the way macOS does: by its app, by its command in the usual install locations, and by the folder it keeps its settings in. If Codex is installed somewhere unusual, paste the configuration above by hand; the connection works whether or not Pomeroy found Codex first.

Nothing comes back when I ask.

Check that the app you asked about is switched on in Pomeroy, and that the week's 50 free actions are not used up. Pomeroy says so in the answer if they are, and the count refills a week after it started.
