How to connect codex to apple reminders

Pomeroy lists the assistants it finds on this Mac, so install Codex first if it is not there yet.

    Download Pomeroy and switch on Apple Reminders.

    Open the download, drag Pomeroy into Applications, and open it. Pomeroy opens a setup window listing every app it can connect. macOS asks whether Pomeroy may access your reminders. The prompt names Pomeroy, and nothing is requested until you flip the toggle.

    Press Set up beside Codex.

    Pomeroy runs Codex's own codex mcp add command, which writes to Codex's configuration file. The CLI, the IDE extension and the ChatGPT desktop app all read that one file, so you set up once. If the codex command is not where Pomeroy can find it, Pomeroy adds the entry to the file itself.

    Check Codex.

    Run codex mcp list in the Terminal and pomeroy is listed. In the ChatGPT app, Settings › MCP servers shows it. Quit Codex and open it again.

    Ask Codex something.

    Try “Remind me to renew my passport next Friday.” and a real answer comes back.

Can Codex see my Apple Reminders?

Yes. Once you switch Reminders on in Pomeroy, Codex can read every list or just one, with incomplete reminders first and the soonest due date at the top.

Can Codex tick things off?

Yes, when you ask. Codex can mark a reminder done, and that is the only change it can make to an existing reminder. It cannot delete one, and it cannot un-tick one.

Is it safe to connect Codex to Apple Reminders?

Pomeroy reads your reminders on your Mac and sends nothing to a Pomeroy server. What Codex reads becomes part of your conversation, the same as text you paste in. Reminders starts switched off, and you can switch it off again at any time. Pomeroy is an independent app, not made by Anthropic.

Codex does not show Pomeroy's tools.

Quit Codex completely and open it again; it reads its configuration when it starts. Then press Set up again in Pomeroy, under Settings › Assistants: every way Pomeroy sets an assistant up is safe to run twice. Pomeroy's menu bar shows whether Codex is connected right now.
