How to connect kiro to apple maps

Pomeroy lists the assistants it finds on this Mac, so install Kiro first if it is not there yet.

    Download Pomeroy and switch on Apple Maps.

    Open the download, drag Pomeroy into Applications, and open it. Pomeroy opens a setup window listing every app it can connect. Maps needs no macOS permission prompt. The maps actions take place names, not your location, so there is nothing for macOS to ask about.

    Press Set up beside Kiro.

    Pomeroy opens Kiro's own install link and Kiro asks you to confirm before anything is written. Kiro watches its configuration file, so the server connects as soon as you accept.

    Check Kiro.

    In Kiro's MCP panel, pomeroy is listed and shown as connected, with its tools underneath it.

    Ask Kiro something.

    Try “How long will it take to drive to Bristol?” and a real answer comes back.

Can Kiro use Apple Maps?

Yes. Once you switch Maps on in Pomeroy, Kiro can search for places near a named place and route between two named places, driving or walking, with the distance and the expected time.

Does this share my location?

No. The maps actions take place names, like Borough Market, never coordinates. Pomeroy has a separate Location toggle for the one action that reads where your Mac is, and it stays off unless you switch it on.

Can Kiro plan a train journey?

No. Apple does not route public transport on a Mac, so Pomeroy offers driving and walking only. For a train journey, Kiro can still tell you the walking route to the station.

Kiro does not show Pomeroy's tools.

Then press Set up again in Pomeroy, under Settings › Assistants: every way Pomeroy sets an assistant up is safe to run twice. Then check that the app you asked about is switched on in Pomeroy: an app that is off serves no tools. Pomeroy's menu bar shows whether Kiro is connected right now.
