How to connect cursor to apple maps

Pomeroy lists the assistants it finds on this Mac, so install Cursor first if it is not there yet.

    Download Pomeroy and switch on Apple Maps.

    Open the download, drag Pomeroy into Applications, and open it. Pomeroy opens a setup window listing every app it can connect. Maps needs no macOS permission prompt. The maps actions take place names, not your location, so there is nothing for macOS to ask about.

    Press Set up beside Cursor.

    Pomeroy opens Cursor's own install link. Cursor shows a dialog with the command it is about to add and asks you to confirm. If Cursor does not respond, Pomeroy writes the same entry to Cursor's configuration file.

    Check Cursor.

    In Cursor's settings, the MCP section lists pomeroy with its tools. In a chat, agent mode can call them. You may need to restart Cursor.

    Ask Cursor something.

    Try “How long will it take to drive to Bristol?” and a real answer comes back.

Can Cursor use Apple Maps?

Yes. Once you switch Maps on in Pomeroy, Cursor can search for places near a named place and route between two named places, driving or walking, with the distance and the expected time.

Does this share my location?

No. The maps actions take place names, like Borough Market, never coordinates. Pomeroy has a separate Location toggle for the one action that reads where your Mac is, and it stays off unless you switch it on.

Can Cursor plan a train journey?

No. Apple does not route public transport on a Mac, so Pomeroy offers driving and walking only. For a train journey, Cursor can still tell you the walking route to the station.

Cursor does not show Pomeroy's tools.

Try restarting Cursor; its documentation does not say whether it reloads on its own. Then press Set up again in Pomeroy, under Settings › Assistants: every way Pomeroy sets an assistant up is safe to run twice. Pomeroy's menu bar shows whether Cursor is connected right now.
