How to connect claude code to apple reminders

Pomeroy lists the assistants it finds on this Mac, so install Claude Code first if it is not there yet.

  1. 1

Download Pomeroy and switch on Apple Reminders.

Open the download, drag Pomeroy into Applications, and open it. Pomeroy opens a setup window listing every app it can connect. macOS asks whether Pomeroy may access your reminders. The prompt names Pomeroy, and nothing is requested until you flip the toggle.

  2. 2

Press Set up beside Claude Code.

Pomeroy runs Claude Code's own claude mcp add command with user scope, so Pomeroy is available in every project rather than one folder. If the claude command is not where Pomeroy can find it, Pomeroy adds the same entry to Claude Code's configuration file instead.

  3. 3

    Check Claude Code.

Run claude mcp list in the Terminal and pomeroy is listed. Inside a session, /mcp shows it connected, with its tools. Start a new Claude Code session.

  4. 4

    Ask Claude Code something.

Try “Remind me to renew my passport next Friday.” and a real answer comes back.

The configuration, in full

Set up writes it for you. The documentation has the exact text, where it goes, and how to check it worked.

Can Claude Code see my Apple Reminders?

Yes. Once you switch Reminders on in Pomeroy, Claude Code can read every list or just one, with incomplete reminders first and the soonest due date at the top.

Can Claude Code tick things off?

Yes, when you ask. Claude Code can mark a reminder done, and that is the only change it can make to an existing reminder. It cannot delete one, and it cannot un-tick one.

Is it safe to connect Claude Code to Apple Reminders?

Pomeroy reads your reminders on your Mac and sends nothing to a Pomeroy server. What Claude Code reads becomes part of your conversation, the same as text you paste in. Reminders starts switched off, and you can switch it off again at any time. Pomeroy is an independent app, not made by Anthropic.

Claude Code does not show Pomeroy's tools.

Start a new Claude Code session; a running one keeps the tool list it started with. Then press Set up again in Pomeroy, under Settings › Assistants: every way Pomeroy sets an assistant up is safe to run twice. Pomeroy's menu bar shows whether Claude Code is connected right now.
