How to connect vs code to apple reminders

Pomeroy lists the assistants it finds on this Mac, so install VS Code first if it is not there yet.

  1. 1

Download Pomeroy and switch on Apple Reminders.

Open the download, drag Pomeroy into Applications, and open it. Pomeroy opens a setup window listing every app it can connect. macOS asks whether Pomeroy may access your reminders. The prompt names Pomeroy, and nothing is requested until you flip the toggle.

  2. 2

Press Set up beside VS Code.

Pomeroy opens VS Code's own install link. VS Code adds pomeroy to your user MCP configuration and asks you to trust it before starting it the first time.

  3. 3

    Check VS Code.

In VS Code, run MCP: List Servers from the Command Palette and pomeroy is listed as running. In Copilot chat, agent mode shows Pomeroy's tools.

  4. 4

    Ask VS Code something.

Try “Remind me to renew my passport next Friday.” and a real answer comes back.

The configuration, in full

Set up writes it for you. The documentation has the exact text, where it goes, and how to check it worked.

Can VS Code see my Apple Reminders?

Yes. Once you switch Reminders on in Pomeroy, VS Code can read every list or just one, with incomplete reminders first and the soonest due date at the top.

Can VS Code tick things off?

Yes, when you ask. VS Code can mark a reminder done, and that is the only change it can make to an existing reminder. It cannot delete one, and it cannot un-tick one.

Is it safe to connect VS Code to Apple Reminders?

Pomeroy reads your reminders on your Mac and sends nothing to a Pomeroy server. What VS Code reads becomes part of your conversation, the same as text you paste in. Reminders starts switched off, and you can switch it off again at any time. Pomeroy is an independent app, not made by Anthropic.

VS Code does not show Pomeroy's tools.

Then press Set up again in Pomeroy, under Settings › Assistants: every way Pomeroy sets an assistant up is safe to run twice. Then check that the app you asked about is switched on in Pomeroy: an app that is off serves no tools. Pomeroy's menu bar shows whether VS Code is connected right now.
