Connect Pomeroy to AnythingLLM

Yes, AnythingLLM works with Pomeroy. Pomeroy sets itself up in AnythingLLM with one click. Then AnythingLLM can reach Mail, Calendar, Reminders, Notes, Contacts, Messages, Maps, Shortcuts and Weather on your Mac, each app behind its own switch in Pomeroy, and nothing leaves your Mac except what you ask for.

How to connect Pomeroy to AnythingLLM

Pomeroy lists the assistants it finds on this Mac, so install AnythingLLM first if it is not there yet. Coming back to Pomeroy’s window re-checks.

  1. 1

Download Pomeroy and switch on your apps.

Open the download, drag Pomeroy into Applications, and open it. Pomeroy opens a setup window listing every app it can connect. Switch on the ones you want, and macOS asks you to approve each.

  2. 2

    Press Set up beside AnythingLLM.

Pomeroy adds pomeroy to AnythingLLM's server file, leaving the rest of it alone. Open Agent Skills and press Refresh.

  3. 3

    Check AnythingLLM.

In AnythingLLM, open Agent Skills and pomeroy is listed. Start a chat with @agent and it can call the tools.

  4. 4

    Ask AnythingLLM something.

Try “What’s on my calendar today?” and a real answer comes back.

The configuration, in full

You do not need it — Set up writes it for you. The documentation has the exact text, where it goes, how to check it worked, and how to use the local HTTP endpoint.

AnythingLLM does not show Pomeroy's tools.

Then press Set up again in Pomeroy, under Settings › Assistants: every way Pomeroy sets an assistant up is safe to run twice. Then check that the app you asked about is switched on in Pomeroy: an app that is off serves no tools. Pomeroy's menu bar shows whether AnythingLLM is connected right now.

Pomeroy did not list AnythingLLM.

Pomeroy looks for AnythingLLM the way macOS does: by its app, by its command in the usual install locations, and by the folder it keeps its settings in. If AnythingLLM is installed somewhere unusual, paste the configuration above by hand; the connection works whether or not Pomeroy found AnythingLLM first.

Nothing comes back when I ask.

Check that the app you asked about is switched on in Pomeroy, and that the week's 50 free actions are not used up. Pomeroy says so in the answer if they are, and the count refills a week after it started.
