Connect Pomeroy to goose

How to connect Pomeroy to goose

Pomeroy lists the assistants it finds on this Mac, so install goose first if it is not there yet. Coming back to Pomeroy’s window re-checks.

Download Pomeroy and switch on your apps.
Open the download, drag Pomeroy into Applications, and open it. Pomeroy opens a setup window listing every app it can connect. Switch on the ones you want, and macOS asks you to approve each.

Press Set up beside goose.
Pomeroy puts an extensions entry on your clipboard. Paste it into goose's config.yaml, keeping any extensions already there.

Paste it into goose.
Paste the configuration into ~/.config/goose/config.yaml. In goose, the extensions list (Settings › Extensions in the desktop app, or goose configure in the Terminal) shows Pomeroy enabled. Start a new goose session.

Ask goose something.
Try “What’s on my calendar today?” and a real answer comes back.

What goose can do with each app

goose does not show Pomeroy's tools.

Start a new goose session; a running one keeps the tool list it started with. Then press Set up again in Pomeroy, under Settings › Assistants: every way Pomeroy sets an assistant up is safe to run twice. Pomeroy's menu bar shows whether goose is connected right now.

Pomeroy did not list goose.

Pomeroy looks for goose the way macOS does: by its app, by its command in the usual install locations, and by the folder it keeps its settings in. If goose is installed somewhere unusual, paste the configuration above by hand; the connection works whether or not Pomeroy found goose first.

Nothing comes back when I ask.

Check that the app you asked about is switched on in Pomeroy, and that the week's 50 free actions are not used up. Pomeroy says so in the answer if they are, and the count refills a week after it started.
