Connect Pomeroy to Cline
Yes, Cline works with Pomeroy. Pomeroy sets itself up in Cline with one click. Then Cline can reach Mail, Calendar, Reminders, Notes, Contacts, Messages, Maps, Shortcuts and Weather on your Mac, each app behind its own switch in Pomeroy, and nothing leaves your Mac except what you ask for.
Free for 50 actions a week. No account, no card. Or get Cline first.
How to connect Pomeroy to Cline
Pomeroy lists the assistants it finds on this Mac, so install Cline first if it is not there yet. Coming back to Pomeroy’s window re-checks.
- 1
Download Pomeroy and switch on your apps.
Open the download, drag Pomeroy into Applications, and open it. Pomeroy opens a setup window listing every app it can connect. Switch on the ones you want, and macOS asks you to approve each.
- 2
Press Set up beside Cline.
Pomeroy adds pomeroy to Cline's settings file, leaving every other server in it untouched. Cline watches that file and reconnects the servers that changed.
- 3
Check Cline.
In Cline's MCP Servers view, pomeroy is listed and connected. In the terminal, cline config mcp shows the same entry.
- 4
Ask Cline something.
Try “What’s on my calendar today?” and a real answer comes back.
The configuration, in full
You do not need it — Set up writes it for you. The documentation has the exact text, where it goes, how to check it worked, and how to use the local HTTP endpoint.
What Cline can do with each app
One page per app: what Cline can and cannot do there, the macOS prompt to expect, and things to ask.
Cline does not show Pomeroy's tools.
Then press Set up again in Pomeroy, under Settings › Assistants: every way Pomeroy sets an assistant up is safe to run twice. Then check that the app you asked about is switched on in Pomeroy: an app that is off serves no tools. Pomeroy's menu bar shows whether Cline is connected right now.
Pomeroy did not list Cline.
Pomeroy looks for Cline the way macOS does: by its app, by its command in the usual install locations, and by the folder it keeps its settings in. If Cline is installed somewhere unusual, paste the configuration above by hand; the connection works whether or not Pomeroy found Cline first.
Nothing comes back when I ask.
Check that the app you asked about is switched on in Pomeroy, and that the week's 50 free actions are not used up. Pomeroy says so in the answer if they are, and the count refills a week after it started.
